Substitute Teachers

Northeast Woodland seeks Substitute Teachers for the 2023-24 academic year. Candidates for this position will have a strong desire to work as part of a team in a dynamic school committed to inspiring creative thinkers and discovering a unique connection to learning. The hours for this position are 7:30 a.m. to 3:15 p.m.
Responsibilities for this position may include:
Substitute teaching in Early Childhood and/or Grades 1-8
Substitute teaching in our Aftercare Programs (which runs from 3PM until 5pm)
Lunch and Recess Duties
Support for all teaching staff
Main Office and administrative duties, including answering phones and greeting visitors
Assisting in the school kitchen
Education/Experience Requirements
The ideal candidate will have experience as a substitute teacher with students ages 3–14 and must demonstrate skill, confidence, and expertise in working with students.
A Bachelor's degree is preferred. Work experience commensurate with a degree will be considered.
Waldorf training and teaching experience are a plus.

One to One Aide Job Description:
Under the supervision of a lead teacher, the aide will provide direct service to the individual student and participate in the daily instruction and activities of the class and school alongside the assigned student.
TASKS
Work closely with the lead teacher and educational support personnel to implement strategies and tools to assist the student in developing positive work habits and coping strategies.
Under the teacher's supervision, provide guidance to the student in a variety of individual and group activities to reinforce instructional objectives, implement IEP plans, and ensure student's success in school.
Adapts classroom activities and/or materials under the direction of the supervising teacher to support and reinforce classroom objectives and meet IEP Goals.
Work with the student one-on-one by providing her with additional attention, redirection, and encouragement to complete tasks without overly engaging in social play.
Implement behavioral plans to meet student’s needs for social, educational, and physical development in accordance with her IEP.
Monitors student's daily schedule and behavior plan to maintain a safe and positive learning environment.
Take notes of important information such as areas of weakness or limitations for the Team to consider at meetings.
Communicate with the lead teacher and educational support personnel to assess progress toward IEP objectives.
Respond to emergencies such as injuries, fights, or medical issues to immediate resolution.
Assist and escort the student when necessary for transitions and arrival to/from destinations.
Maintain a professional relationship with child’s parents and observe confidentiality regarding school, child, and family matters
Support the lead teacher in implementing the daily rhythm when requested
Support healthy play dynamics and appropriate classroom management techniques
Care for the physical and emotional well-being of the child
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour
Expected hours: 37.5 per week
